Terms of Use

1. The service

PDFAmend is a browser-based tool that lets you edit text in native text-based PDF files and download the edited result. Editing and preview are free. Downloading an edited PDF requires a one-time payment or a pass.

2. What we do not support

  • Scanned / image PDFs (no OCR is performed)
  • PDFs with DRM or password protection
  • Font matching — PDFAmend suggests the closest standard font when possible (Helvetica, Times, Courier, and bold/italic variants). Some PDFs use Helvetica as a fallback when the original font cannot be embedded
  • Table reflow — structural layout changes are not automatically reflowed

3. Redaction

Redaction removes visible text from the PDF content stream for supported native-text PDFs and applies an opaque black bar. Complex PDFs — with layers, form fields, OCR overlays, embedded files, or alternate text representations — may contain additional copies of information. Always verify redacted documents before sharing sensitive data.

4. Payments and refunds

Payments are processed by Stripe. All sales are final. If a download fails due to a confirmed technical error on our side, contact us within 24 hours via the email on your Stripe receipt and we will arrange a replacement download or refund.

Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation stops future charges; the current period remains active.

5. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the content of PDFs you edit. Do not use this tool to alter documents in a fraudulent, deceptive, or legally prohibited way. We are not liable for how you use edited documents.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your documents. We claim no ownership over your PDFs or the text you add or edit.

7. Limitation of liability

This service is provided “as is.” We are not liable for document loss, data corruption, missed deadlines, or any consequential damages arising from use of this tool. Always keep a backup of the original PDF.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
